TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATION CHANNEL (TDCC)
Growth of TDCC
The TDCC was declared operational in February 1995 and one transponder
on INSAT -38 is dedicated for this purpose. Several user agencies have
set up their own receive networks and now are in the process of acquiring
their own uplinks. More and more user agencies are coming forward. It
is quite likely that (in the next five years almost all State 6overnmerts
and several Open Universities would have these satellite based teleconferencing
facilities and these would form the backbone of communication support
to distance education and development training in the country
Growth of teleconferencing/Interactive Training Programmes
using TDCC is phenomenal in terms of:
1. Increase in number of user agencies
2. Increase in number of areas of teleconferencing applications
3. Increase in number of target groups
4. Increase in number of Teaching ends
5. Increase in number of Receiving ends
6. Add-on Technologies
Software Planning Training to
TDCC User Agencies
After operationalisation of TDCC in February 1995, TDCC has witnessed
tremendous growth in terms of number of teaching ends, receiving ends,
user agencies, training areas and training groups. On demand by different
user agencies, software-planning training is provided in order to empower
them for conducting Interactive Training Programmes more effectively.
Training content includes familiarisation with the
network, roles and responsibilities of user agencies, nodal person, focal
person, facilitator, anchor person, resource persons, and visual aids.
Such trainings were provided to:
1. ANS - SIRD, Mysore for State Government of Karnataka
(Two Training Programmes)
2. MPAA - Bhopal, for State Government of Madhya Pradesh
3. SEWA - Ahmedabad
4. DPEP - New Delhi
5. ORSAC - Bhubaneswar for Government of Orissa
It is planned to provide software training to all new
user agencies as well as all Gramsat Projects in different states.
All agencies involved in communication impart in-house
training to their employees both long term and short term training with
a view to capacity building of communicators for transformation of the
society. It would be more meaningful if networking of all training agencies
takes place.
