JHABUA DEVELOPMENT COMMUNICATIONS PROJECT (JDCP)

Why Jhabua

Jhabua was chosen because it is one of the most backward districts in the country according to several development indicators - low literacy, high drop-out rate, high infant mortality rate, low longevity, difficult geographical regions, scattered habitation, lack of communication facilities and several other such parameters which really make an ideal case for implementation of a satellite based communication system. The fact that Jhabua is a predominantly tribal district was its additional “qualification”.

NB: During JDCP, this was the Map of MP, which was later bifurcated.
