LAUNCH COMPLEX
Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR is the launch station for GSLV. The SHAR complex located at 80 km north east of Chennai (latitude : 13°N, Longitude: 80°E) is ideally located at the east coast of India. The vehicle and spacecraft preparations, integration, checkout and launch operations are carried out in the Launch Complex facilities at SHAR.

- Subsystem Preparation Facility
- Hardware Storage Facility
- Industrial Service Facility
- Liquid / Cryogenic Propellant Storage and Transfer Facility
- Stage Preparation facility for Cryogenic Stage
- Automatic Checkout and Control for Propellant Filling
- Safety and Fire Fighting Systems
- Launch Control Centre and Mission Control Centre
- Satellite Preparation Facility
Range instrumentation and Support Facilities include:
- Tracking Systems like Precision ‘C’ band Mono pulse Radars and ‘C’ and ‘S’ Band Radars
- Tele command Systems
- Support Systems like Inter communication, CCTV System, Data Links, Range Timing System, Real Time Systems and Specialist Display System
- Meteorology and Technical Photography
- TM data receiving station.
