INSAT-2E Ready for Launch
All preparations for the launch of INSAT-2E, the last satellite in the second genaration INSAT-2 series built by ISRO, have been completed at the launch site in Kourou, French Guyana. The satellite was mated with the launch vehicle on March 29, 1999 and overall checks have been completed. A full dress rehearsal of the launch with the involvement of the launch centre at Kourou, the INSAT-Master Control Facility (MCF) at Hassan in Karnataka and the network of telemetry, trackng and command stations at Perth in Australia, Fucino in Italy and Lake Cowichan in Canada that will support the INSAT-2E launch,was held in March 30-31, 1999
The Launch Readiness Review of the 117th launch of the Araiane with INSAT-2E stellite on board, was completed yesterday (March 31, 1999). The launch is scheduled between 03.33 am and 04.23 am IST on April 3, 1999.
INSAT-2E launch will be telecast live by Doordarshan between 02.50 am and 05.00 am on then morning of April 3,1999.
