Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will be hosting the 14th Asia Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum meeting (APRSAF-14) in Bangalore during November 2007. On the eve of this Asia-Pacific meet and also as part of celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Space Age, a ‘Water Rocket Making and Launching Event’ will be held in Bangalore for the students of Asia-Pacific countries. Two high school students from Bangalore will be selected to participate in this Asia-Pacific competition. To select these students, the preliminary round of the ‘Water Rocket Making and Launching Event’ for students of Bangalore city based high schools will be conducted during September-October 2007. For short-listing students to take part in this preliminary round of competition, a quiz contest on space and astronomy will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2007. Each school can nominate two students to participate in the quiz competition. Bangalore city based High Schools willing to participate in the quiz competition may send the names of two students and the classes in which they are studying before August 14, 2007 to: Public Relations Officer Concurrently with the Water Rocket Event, a Poster Making Competition on the theme ’Fifty Years in Space’ will be held during September-October 2007 for students of higher primary level. Each Bangalore City based higher primary school can send one poster/painting prepared by one of its students. Schools willing to participate in the poster/painting competition may send the name of its student along with the class before August 14, 2007 to the Public Relations Officer, ISRO. |
