Cardiff University, UK, Honours Dr Kasturirangan

Dr K Kasturirangan, Member of Rajya Sabha and Director of National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bangalore and former Chairman, ISRO, has become Honorary Fellow of Cardiff University, Cardiff, United Kingdom (UK). The Honorary Fellowship was conferred on Dr Kasturirangan at the University's Graduation ceremony held on February 21, 2006 at Cardiff. The Honorary Fellowship recognises Dr Kasturirangan's contribution in directing the Indian space programme and contribution to development of space science and technology including the development of launch vehicle and satellite technology, applications in the area of remote sensing, communication and education using space systems as well as promoting space science research.

Cardiff University recognises great international figures from different fields like medicine, science, business, arts and the media who enrich the university community. The conferring of Honorary Fellowship on Dr Kasturirangan is thus an international recognition for his contribution to space.
