
Indian space programme continued
to attract attention of both Houses of Parliament during the year. In
all, 61 questions on space programme were answered in Parliament in 2001
as given in the table:
The questions generally pertained
to matters relating to space science, mission to moon, space programme,
development of indigenous cryogenic engine, launching of GSLV, INSAT-3B,
Gramsat, second Launch Pad Project, Sale of IRS Data, Remote Sensing
Satellite etc.
The Department-related Parliamentary
Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests,
held its meeting on April 10, 2001 and reviewed the performance
of the Department and considered the Demands for Grants of the Department
for
2001-2002.
