Programme on Climate change Research In Terrestrial environment (PRACRITI)

The PRACRITI a programme on space based global climate change observation has been launched to develop mechanism to quantify the state of changing climate and model its impact on terrestrial ecosystem. The PRACRITI programme presently consists of studies related with modelling the impact of climate change on Agriculture, Himalayan Cryopshere and Hydrology as well as Sensor system studies for monitoring green house gases. The programme is inter disciplinary in nature and would involve collaborations of various agencies such as ICAR, CSIR, SASE, IITs etc. The studies have been planned to be carried out from 2009-10 to 2011-12.
