Behest of Flood Management Information System Cell, Govt. of
Bihar, a Flood Management Information System (FMIS) has been designed and
developed as a desktop based application using COTS software with different
modules for data access and updation, analysis, generation of maps and reports.
Information on flood affected villages and frequency of floods is obtained
using the analysis tools incorporated in the application. It consists of a user
friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI) to visualize the geospatial database
and generate specific flood data products such as overview of inundation map,
regional inundation map, relief support map, embankment breach impact map and
flood frequency map.
