For effective utilization and to enhance the outreach of
generated land use/land cover at 1:250,000 scale using AWiFS data, a web
enabled information system, namely, BHOOSAMPADA has been developed in Internet
GIS domain (http://www.nrsa.gov.in/rsgisweb/rsgisindex.htm). 3 crop years
(2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07) of dynamic land use/land cover database, seasonal
snow cover and water bodies are organized in a central server system with
ancillary details on roads, settlements and socio-economic data. The
centralized database server located at NRSC enables easy data updation,
concurrent access of the same data by several users, easy and fast data
dissemination to authorized users through a common platform in a simple web
browser environment. Apart from interactive browsing, it allows users to
perform various query, analysis like crop area statistics, per capita analysis,
change analysis, on-the-fly map composition, etc.
